    oh yuk, sorry but I just cannot scrub a loo.
    quick squirt of bleach and leave it overnight for me.
    having men in the house means limescale, so I tried the colarola thing and it didn't work for me, so once in a blue moon I use one of those special limescale removers - but only when on special offer.

    You might have just left metal scratches on the porcelain, like the marks you make on a plate with a knife and fork. It's easily remedied though, you just need something called a "Plumbers Eraser", you just rub the marks off.

    I cannot see how men have any impact on how much limescale you have! :D

    I know that men & toilets are always a topic for discussion, but I think blaming them for limescale is a bit much! Limescale gets deposited from your water- if you are in a hard water area, that's what makes the water hard. It's usually calcium or magnesium carbonate I think...

    I'm lucky- we get lovely soft water up here, so no scum in tea, washing machine trauma etc etc.
