You can make a kind of "poor man's shortbread" by mixing 8oz plain flour with 6oz margarine and 4oz sugar until it forms one big lump then roll it out and cut out shapes. Bake for around 15 minutes, keeping an eye so they don't burn.
Basic Victoria sponge-type recipe for a cake: mix 4oz margarine with 4oz sugar till creamy. Add in 2 beaten eggs then 4oz flour with baking powder (amount as per what it says on the packet). Once mixed well, bake in sandwich cake tins (lined with greaseproof paper) for around 20 minutes or so. Sandwich together with jam or buttercream (or both!) when cold.
Oven temperatures - the biscuits need around 180 - 200 degrees C, the cake around 170 - 190 degrees C.One life - your life - live it!0
