It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

I just subtracted the cost of your house from your headline figure of £750,000 savings. Chill out. I was just wondering what you did with your remaining half a million or so?
Have to say, you've gone from not caring about someone on on internet forum, to pretty intense caring about someone else on an internet forum!

"Intense caring"? I'm interested in what Geoff did with his half a million. I don't "intensely care". So, just as an example, if Geoff never revisits this thread ever again, and I never get an insight in to Geoff's finances, I won't lose sleep. I won't be finding myself sitting on my sofa one evening thinking, "hmmm, I wish Geoff had told me what he does with his money, I just can't stop thinking about him." I'm just curious.0
