Dealing with creased/crumpled jacket?

EmptyPurse

I've recently invested in some very good quality jackets for my new job (including one of this season's Hobbs jackets which I found in mint condition in a charity shop for £8 :j) The trouble is that I find that the sleaves in particular get very creased/crumpled by the end of the day. I don't want to iron the sleaves all the time as this will eventually make the seams go all shiny. Can anyone recommend alternative methods for getting the creases out? Ignoring them isn't an option as I've got to be very smart all the time....

There is also a risk that repeated ironing will eventually send the fabric shiny!
The best thing to do is when you get home hand the jacket up on a coat hanger and leave it in the room airing off. It should in theory drop the creases. You didn't say what material it is, if it is linen it may need a blast with a steam generator iron if you have one - or a misting of water and then let it drop the creases out that way!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

You could try hanging it on a coat hanger for a couple of days then boiling a kettle underneath it and letting the steam rise to help with the creasing. might need doing a couple of times.0

Press it using a lint-free cloth between the iron and the sleeve. This will prevent the fabric going shiny. Hanging the jacket up in the bathroom while you bathe could help the creases to drop a bit.0

From experience, gentle ironing with a teatowel over the sleeve is the best way. (Old soldier here).0

May as well hang it in the greenhouse.0 -
Thanks, all! Will hang it in a steamy bathroom when I get home & then use the lint free cloth / teatowel approach if that doesn't fix the problem. Fingers crossed!0
