Thank you all! Am already half way through the handbag after abandoning the OH to potter in his shed and spending the vast majority of the day at knitting group. The interior is almost finished and hes moved one large piece of machinery down there already. Have been promised that the next one will move later today. Finally seem to be getting somewhere
DD1 did outstandingly well at school and was presented with the Head Teachers award for outstanding effort and attitude along with a £10 gift voucher. Shes more impressed with the gift voucher so we're going to spend that at the weekend.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Whooooooop whoooooop!!!! The OH has started moving tat into his shed. Two boxes out of the tiny hall, one large unit from the breakfast room and two stacks of boxes from the living room. The difference its made is huge. I've mopped bits of floor that I haven't seen for years. Much cleaning is in order today to get rid of the debris left behind. It finally feels like progress is being madeSaving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Continuing my ruthless declutter I have turfed the giant doggy box into the garden thus allowing light into the house from the bottom half of the doorway it was blocking. The hairball isn't in the slightest bit bothered, shes merely relocated her bones and blanket to anoter corner of the room and is happily chomping away.
Have donated my wooly storage unit to the shed which means there are boxes of wool everywhere. Eeek. Didn't realise I had so much. Today will be spent going through it in the hopes of persuading it to occupy a few less boxes in order to cram it all inthe cupboard. It would help if I got a move on with the couple of part made things I've promised people. Will get them done over the next couple of weeks.
Feeling so much more cheerful about things now that progress is finally happening. Am also discovering just how much more cleaning this mad decluttering generates. Bah.
Four more days of work to go. One lot of childcare has fallen through which means I have to come up with an alternative for the first week of the hols. Have e-mailed a couple of places to see if they still have spaces.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

I always try to squash stuff into less boxes in a mistaken belief I have less clutter if I can say 'hey look at those empty boxes/drawers/shelves - I must have got rid of sooo much - the reality is that I havent:( Note to self:Must be more ruthless:)

I'm rather fortunate in that I'm a very untidy person so a lot of the boxes were only part full. I've rearranged the contents into two boxes less which is still a lot but no where near as messy as it looked yesterday.
Had another spendy day. Took advantage of a prommotion in the farm shop and bought DD1 new jodphur boots and riding gloves for £25. At least I know that particular style last long enough to fit both DDs unlike cheaper boots which seem to wear out before DD2 outgrows them.
Went to WHSmiths in the hopes of spending DD1s voucher but failed miserably. Who on earth pays £9 for a pencil case?
Went on to Mr Ts where we blew £30 but came away with next years school uniform, a teeny bit of shopping and pizza for dinner. Will have to track down another pair of trousers for DD1 as they only had one in her size but at least this year the entire school range seems to have adjustable waists which makes things so much easier.
Lots of washing done. Lots more to do. Mostly non-essential stuff. The handbag is now considerably smaller than it was and more handbag shaped. Now waiting for it to dry before adding the finishing touches. Meanwhile one of the other projects is midway through with another at the start of the fiddle stage and so whilst I was on a crafty roll I transformed this:
into this:
using the drop spindle I bought ages ago but never seemed to find the time to try out. It took ages despite there only being about a metre of yarn. I fear this may be my most time consuming hobby yet. Its a whole lot of fun though.
Plans for today involve much laundry, interior window cleaning, even more decluttering and a spot of hedge masacring whilst the sun is shining.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
