Experiences with bathroom scales

Options
Have had a set of digital bathroom scales that have been useless. You can get on and off 3 times(putting feet in same place) and get 3 different weights ranging from 1-8lb.
Having had enough of this bought a cheap pair of mechanical scales yesterday, climbed aboard (:)) and they weighed me at 14 lb heavier than the average on the digital scales!! Not a happy bunny to say the least.

Back to dieting I'm afraid!!

Which scales do you all find most accurate-mechanical or digital?

    Mechanical for me.

We bought 3 different sets of digital scales last year and they were pants. We all had 3 different readings in the space of a minute!

I bought a set from Lloyds pharmacy about 3 years ago, they are digital and weigh to the nearest 1/4 pound, I've got on and off them and get the same reading each time:) They are an older version of these http://www.lloydspharmacy.com/en/lloydspharmacy-digital-glass-body-fat-scales-17840

The Lloyds Pharmacy ones sound quite impressive -unlike the weight watchers ones which are tosh.
I may have to invest but tbh I think I will be avoiding scales (and dieting like mad) for couple of weeks !!

My mechanical ones I got from Lakeland are terrible, my weight can vary by a whole stone getting on and off 3 times. :)

I had cheapy mechanical ones which I thought were accurate but kept getting differing readings so got new digital ones from Argos a few weeks back. They are 5lb out from the mechanical ones (heavier sadly) but they read consistently and dont change the reading when you get on and off.... :)

It appears that both digital and mechanical are as bad as each other from your experiences. Earlier I was searching for something with a 'known' weight and came across some training weights and thought that I would try them on both sets of scales and they both weighed accurately-just can't win!
