There are so many tips on here about ways to save when doing the Tes*co run. I've needed to collect them all in a useful order in my head to make sure I don't forget!
Here's my routine step by step!:
1. (Pre-shop). Visit MSE threads for latest misprices, DTD's, 1p bargains
2. Make a shopping list.
3. Get any coupons/vouchers organised (look on MSE coupon thread for latest).
4. During shop, look for further misprices and woopsies/reductions.
5. At checkout, separate transactions (bargains and full priced) to maximise potential pricecheck vouchering later.
6. Scrutinise own receipt for anomalies and potential DTD's.
7. Visit customer services if there is a DTD owing.
8. Be vigilant for wombled receipts
9. Once home, enter relevant receipt details on pricechecker.
Please let me know if I've forgotten anything!!
THANKS

Hi that is very disiplined I couldn't do that I tend to go on to mysupermarket, load my trolley and buy cheapest, my latest saving was £60 against the next cheapest, if I go instore I tend to impulse buy, buy their offers - that aren't always cheapest and its hard with the kids there. How much do you spend generally?

oh yes...a visit to 'mysupermarket.com' would be another step to add, pre-shop..great idea! (I don't do that myself, as I only have blimming Tes*co locally, so no choice).0 -
The most important thing I take with me when shopping (apart from my food cash purse) is my shopping list I stick to it rigidly and rarely deviate from it .I am working my way through my freezer at the moment and my food cupboards so I am hoping that by just after Christmas I will have enough room to stock up on reduced bargains. If I had to hazard a guess I would say I probably have sufficient food to last me at least two months apart from fresh veg and milk.I budget for £100 per calender month for my food purse in cash andI usually have cash left over (I live alone) the left over cash goes away towards our family holiday in August with my DD ,OH and five children in a rented holiday house on the Isle of Wight. We both save all the tesco vouchers from one holiday until the next and so far this year we have around £200 in vouchers tucked away towards the food bills. The surplus cash I save from my housekeeping goes towards ice creams ,days out ,a DVD from the local rental shop ect.The eight of us can have a great time of very little money considering how many there is of us.We picnic most of the time and in the evening DD or I will knock up cakes for the tins and twinks hob-nobs for the boys bottomless pits of their stomachs

I actually always write my weekly menu plan on the bottom of my shopping list so I'm guaranteed to have it with me- that way you may be able to save a few more pennies by substituting suitable ingredients if you see them on offer.
