what to do with family for rest of Christmas hols?

I was so looking forward to having some time off with the kids and we had a lovely time but now we are going a bit stir crazy and need to get out. Where though at this time of year? Could go to sales but end up spending money on stuff we don't need, been to feed the ducks. Panto booked for next month.

Has anyone got any money saving ideas for family outings that won't break the bank and keep us sane until the kids go back to school and we go back to work?

Many thanks in anticipation :)
:)

Pack them away with the xmas decorations and get them out again next year.

    How old are the kids?
You could take them to the park and do a scavenger hunt
    Ice skating
    Bowling
    Cooking

I would make the most of the local free museums that are avialble - don't know exactly where you are, but in striking distance of us we have - railway museum (york) - and walks bythe river, royal armories - loads of country parks. How about doing some cookig and baking with them? I'm stuck in with mone at the moment as DH ios back at work and i'm in plaster and so i can't drive - typical!
  • A day's hike across the Malvern hills is on the cards for us at some point.

Have you a local beauty spot ? Wrap up warm take plenty of chocolate (for bribery) and drinks.

One thing my son will be doing:

I bought card, glue, stickers, etc and he is going to make his own thank you cards for relatives.

with 3 kids (ages 7,9,11) we will be doing:

    baking
    sticking and glueing
wrapping up well and going for a few very long walks. take hot chocolate in a flask and some nice goodies to eat.
having a day in at the cinema. staying in pj's with a dvd or 2. kids love it!
  • at the weekends most vue cinemas have 'kids am' films. £1.50 for each child ticket but adults go in free. ( 1 per child)

The films are usually a few months old but there is a chance you won't have seen it unless you go all the time. For example, this week my local vue is showing 'Disneys Shaggy Dog'.

I noticed that its showing every day during the holidays, not just sat/sun.

    The film changes every week.

  • any ideas for a scavenger hunt? my daughter is hell bent on having one for her birthday and I have no idea where to start!
to be rich in happiness is worth so much more than to be rich in money.... wouldn't it be nice to have the choice of both though!
