    Yeah, he did a decision in principle for me. He offered to just do a quicker process - which may be the 'how much I can borrow' test you mentioned - but I had time so figured I may as well go the whole hog.

    I have had mobile phones on contract in the past, but I've never been in debt (apart from my lovely student loan).

    I guess I'm doing ok to even get a DIP then. Which I guess is nice. I'll try to find a good whole of market broker then. I'd like to keep looking for now, rather than give up straight away just because someone said no.
