When do Experian alert there costumers to changes on the credit file?

Been logging on each day and getting sick of it, mainly due to all my creditors taking what looks like a summer holiday instead of updating the agencies. Other providers such as Orange still have not updated there already 2 month lagging information since 6 weeks ago. But since I signed up for Experian my credit file changed once and there has been no alerts yet. Equifax send alerts once a week each Thursday for me, but nothing yet of Experian?

Very annoying especially when a lot of the accounts were cleaned up and some creditiors settled and nothing still showing to reflect this.

Experian only send alerts if there has been a search, a new account set up, something like a default or CCJ added etc. They might send them when an account is marked as settled tbh I'm not certain. They don't send regular updates for normal activity though.

Thanks Tixy come to think of it Equifax may be no different to the smaller changes, though I think I was alerted to a status change. That was Orange changing from 3 months late to up-to-date which is the same orange account still not updated on Experian. Most of my changes this month are a status change. I know the likes of Barclaycard which is paid in full etc does not get alerted with Equifax. Just more of the more dramatic changes and serches, including my own look at my CF

I've noticed on my accounts that Equifax is updated a few days before Experian.

I also get email alerts from experian for changes in payment history etc, but they can be up to a week after I can see the change myself when I log in.

  • I think just about every account I have is updated on Equifax before Experian. Barclaycard around the same time. Orange was updated near 2 weeks on Equifax and no change of Experian. Barclays Current Account has not been updated on either for 6 weeks.

And get this. paid my last payment to Cabot a month ago on the 15th. They have yet to update Experian, and updated Equifax to the point of not showing my account as settled/satisfied and I get a email like 3 daysd ago, saying thank ypou for your fin al payment your balance is now 0 and we will update the credit agencies to show this account is settled in 6 weeks. !!!!!!? So its going to be late August/September by the time my credit report is cleaned 2 and a half months after payment.

Even my whole info on Experian (which btw I like this is not on Equifax) showing credit used and how much debt I owe is like 600 pounds out due to the lag only.

For anyone that dont bother with looking at there CF, when you think your debt free wait at least 3 months before applying because chances are your CF will not be as clean as it should.
