Wonga? HELP!!!

Hiya,
I'm after advice for my sis in law.
She had a loan from Wonga, for £250 I believe but with problems with her partners wages getting messed up she couldnt afford to pay them back what they wanted.
They put her account on 'hold' but then she had some money go into her account and they debited it as a purchase(wth?)
Now shes still on 'hold' where no money should be taken, however shes just had £100 put into her bank to pay a bill and Wonga have nipped right in and taken the lot.
Is this normal? Shes going out of her mind and I'm not sure what to tell her but its like Wonga are actually watching her bank balance
Any info/advice very welcome

I suspect that they're just trying to take payments under whatever repayment schedule she signed up to in the first instance. It probably just looks like they're 'watching' her account as they're making regular attempts to take payment.
How much does she owe in total?0 -
I'm afraid I don't know anything about putting the account on hold, but to be on the safe side I would advise setting up another bank account and depositing any additional funds in there instead.2023 Mortgage-Free Wannabe #19: £11,675.68/£13,000
Mortgage Overpayment Total: £22,397.10 -
It is normal for them to do it according to many previous posters.
There is little that can be done as she owes the money.29th June -Beginning Credit Score 422
£2575
12th July - Credit score 471
22nd August - Credit Score 550
Still very poor just but only just!
Remaining to pay off: £1370.950 -
She needs to open a new bank account elsewhere of put any money into a new account. Wonga will try every day to take a payment from the account, most days it will obviously fail but they carry on until they are successful.
The hold statuts basically counts for nothing (well it might stop constant phone calls harrasing her).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi
Read this excellent thread and follow the advice.
She needs a new basic bank account today if possible (or on-line).

Just hit the spam button - suspect it's someone building up a post 'history' before giving us a link to a can't miss investment/debt repayment opportunity
