To me this doesnt work, you should be getting much higher pay, too much of your income is going on travel, id seriously ask for a payrise, to compesate for this
We don't know what he does though? So its impossible to say if the pay is the pay is good or not!?
Travel is high compared to pay though - would it be possible to get a nearer job or maybe get a travel card/lift share as suggested earlier?
In the short term surely you must have some items you could sell??0 -
jazzy - agreed.
jay - what is it that you do? can you finda job closer to home? or perhaps take on a part time job in the evenings?November NSD's - 70 -

Rent = £250 per mont
Travel Expenses = 160 per month
Debt Repayments sorted with Citizens advice = £103 per month
I took out a pounds till payday loan (£300) which when I didnt have enough funds in my bank to pay back which has left me £180 overdrawn, I have not got an overdraft on my account (Natwest step Account)
I already owe my boss £160 as he has helped me the past 3 months
OK let me see.
For a start you havent done a full SOA theres nothing in here for food and a raft of other expenses. Do take time to do this properly it will help you work out where you stand.
What did you take the payday loan out for?
As I understand it, you have 900 per month, minus 103 to the CAB and minus 160 for travel. you then minus 250 for your rent.
you should have 387 to spend on everything else, food, clothes, dental and so forth.
What have you spent it on?
In order to really get a handle on your situtaion and how to get out of it, you TRULY need to understand where EVERY penny has gone.
Do you have internet banking? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Sorry maybe I could have worded it better, almost 20% of pay on work travel is wrong, they should discuss this with work, or as i suggested earlier look for a closer job, or move closer
And yep (again as i suggested above) sell something for the train fair is an option.
I think as lynz says, the OP needs to get a grip on there finances, as getting themselves in this situation is not good0 -
It's New Year this weekend.
How about asking local bars/pubs/clubs etc if they need any casual staff for the night? Or anyone you know who's organising a party, do they need a waiter? How about asking local catering companies?
If you can find somthing, you'll make a bit of cash (hopefully cash in hand so you get it on the night) and also maybe some tips too. I did this a few years ago helping in a friend's pub and made £100 in wages and tips plus I probably saved at least £50 that I'd have otherwise spent on drinks in the same pub.
What is the absolute minimum you need to get to work on the 2nd? Can you get there cheaper by bus, even if it takes longer?
Do you have anything you can take to somewhere like Cash Converter? They don't pay the best prices but it's instant money. They buy electrical goods, CDs, DVDs, old mobiles etc. If you have a few items, visit a few of these shops if you have them in your town and see who pays the best prices.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.
January challange - sell 10 items. 0 down, 10 to go!0 -

I make the income full-time at around minimum wage level, if the salary isn't going to increase and it's not a worthwhile training post then 160 travel and the time sounds a bit of a waste, the 250 rent including bills sounds very cheap to me. So either increase salary and still travel or try min wage jobs in local area, if you have this debt and are young and have no family (kiddies) why not do 10 hours second job - say pub work on a friday night hence not only earning but not going out and spending. I can't really see why you can't increase your income unless I'm missing something.0
