Bank Accounts on your CR

How long does is take for a bank account to appear on your CR?

Mine doesn't appear thats all, but neither does another one I have with my OH, no overdrafts and I have had that one 5years. My single account is a fairly new account.

Will it appear?

  • It should do, but it depends how often the company (eg Experian) updates its records. Similarly, when you complete an IVA for example and your credit record is 'wiped clean' it can take several weeks between final payment and updating of records.
Before you ask, yes, I work for a bank, but no, I didn't get a bonus!

Banks only share the credit element of a current account with the credit reference agencies ie the overdraft. If you have a current account with no o/d then it will not show on your credit report.

    James,
I have a question......how do creditors know how much you earn? I mean could someone theoretically tell them they earn 100k when they actually earn 10k?

Sounds like a daft question but I always thought they would be able to tell how much I earn from my bank account which I thought was on my credit report?
