not sure what to do

I recently had a credit report and it showed a linked address, which wasnt nothing to do with me. I contacted the company who had linked me to that address and they removed it. However I was told that someone has used my details to obtain credit at this address. I have asked for a credit report but I cant get one as its not my address. What can I do next? I am worried that this will effect my credit rating!:(

If your credit report doesn't show any credit accounts that you don't recognise then there is no problem.

You don't have a different credit report for each address, your report is specific to you as an individual.

If your report does show an account that is not yours then contact the creditor and dispute it.

Experian representative, he asked if I had applied for any credit in the last two years and I said no, he then said that there were several accounts in my maiden name at the other address.

If this company told you someone has used your details to obtain credit , i would write to them explaining everything in detail , including how you found out , send this recorded delivery , keep a copy safe , then make a complaint to the police , take all your evidence with you , keep copies of everything .

Is there anything extra that can be seen by credit card companies or mortgage companies that I can't see? Or am I able to see everything?

You are able to see everything (and slightly more) than potential lenders.

Suzzie1 - if you get back in touch with us and ask to be referred to our victims of fraud team they'll give you specific advice on this. Sounds like someone has certainly been using your ID to get credit so it might be wise to consider some security features, which we will explain.
