Is this any good? my laptop has just died, the motherboard is knackered aparrently and not worth fixing so was thinking of trying to sell it on as spares and getting a netbook.
All i want it for really is surfing the net, transferring my pictures to so i can upload them to facebook etc and using word for very occasional assingments and posters for work etc and for downloading a few films onto for when we go on holiday to keep the kids entertained on the plane etc. I dont really want to spend a lot as really its only so i can sit on the settee and watch tv at the same time instead of having to go into the dining room to use the PC.

Do you think this would be ok for what i want as i really dont understand the difference between netbooks? notebooks and laptops?

Sounds like it will fit your needs fine, it doesn't have a disc drive, like a laptop, if that is of any concern.

I have an older dell mini 10 and use mine for work (word processing etc), surfing the net, emails, storing pictures, music, iTunes etc. It is great for all these things, I wouldn't go back to a full size comp or laptop now. As for the disk drive, most things including printer software and other software can be downloaded, I did buy an external disk drive and probably use that twice a year at most.

I paid £186 for my mini 10 almost 2 years ago from the dell outlet they were part of a cancelled order and I thought that was a real bargain. I have been watching this thread with interest over the past week as soon as the dell came up at this price I jumped at it. They are real easy to use, I love mine.

Does anyone know if there are any more in stock? I've only just realised they're selling them and would love one at this price! What times do lines open in the morning.. (unless i'm too late )?

Phoned this morning, gentleman was very dismissive, said they were out of stock in the main warehouse and it was an old clearance deal anyway..... Should I keep trying? Any help appreciated

TBH i'd try again the guy i spoke to was adamant they had no stock.

I rang 0800 number - no stock left. Inundated with orders over the weekend.

I rang up and man said none left even before id finished asking him.I rang again and spoke to someone else who said there is none left but are getting more tommorow.Dont know if its true because if they are old stock then i doubt there will be more tommorow.He took my number anyway so we will see tommorow.
