A question for all you Dentists or those in "the know".
Visited my NHS dentist yesterday who told me the seal/rim of my gold crown (a molar) needed looking at. I must admit he is a man of few words so I am not too sure what he might want to do. I sort of googled it but what I read sounds a bit drastic - (take the crown off etc!!).
Anyone out there know what he might do!! The cost is £47. so hopefully won't end up with a set of dentures??
He does see patients privately at another practice - may even say a few more words as well!!
I am afraid it will start with a small job and end up ...... well who knows?
the crown is 12 years old by the way.
sincere thanks in anticipation of your answers.:D

well £47 is not a new crown so they wont be taking it off. More likely just flowing some composite around the edge to buy you some more years. I usually just prefer to replace the crown when its doing that but as we can not see you I cant really make that call. If you were getting the crown re done it would be over the £200 mark0
