Whats the difference between a cowl and envelope sleeping bag.

I'm looking to buy a sleeping bag for when we go on holiday but i was wondering what is the difference between a envelope sleeping bag and a cowl sleeping bag.

An envelope sleeping bag is rectangular which makes it easy to get into and out of. Example here:

A cowl sleeping bag has a hood-shaped extension at the top for your head. Like this one:

There are also mummy sleeping bags which are tapered towards the feet but also cover the shoulders and head. Example:
