Turkey: All Inclusive v's Self-catering

Been looking for a holiday in Turkey for about a week now, want to go around mid-August.

Travelling with OH, DD aged 12 & DS aged 8.

Orginally looking for SC but all seem to be around £2,000 for around a two star hotel. More stars than that and you are looking at nearer £3k so then we may as well go AI.

Kids have seen photos of AI now too so they are up for a hotel with slides and a kids club.

We've seen a hotel called Ephesia Holiday Beach which we think is a good deal but it's night flights and we're thinking night flights will be hell with kids in tow.

As you can see I'm in a bit of a dither so any advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Have you checked what Jet2holidays have available? They have dayflights. A night flight going out is not too bad, but coming back it ruins the relaxation you get from a holiday.

    Xmas Saver!
I would go for the all in option, espically where children are concerned, as its a drink here, leave a bit then another, then if someone nearby has a snack, - it just adds up.

2 years ago I went to Tunisia with my DD (she was 6 then) we went AI 4 star, some friends managed to get the same 2 weeks, mum, dad and daughter (25), they decided that our hotel was too dear, was all in, so they stayed where they had been preciously, (think worked out £500 difference in hotels), towards the end of the 2nd week, we went out for a meal, and the mum ur not going to believe this, but we have to keep going to cash machine, as hubby and her sat down and worked out in 1 days they had spent £900 on drinks, snacks and luggages.... they still had 4 days to go,

Yet for us our money was own, this year I took DD to Dom Rep, again AI, and we wanted an extra couple trips, and it was £200 for both of us, and we were able to take that out of the spending money as really all we needed to pay for was trips, few presents, and souveniers.

Unless it was somewhere like Goa, I would always pay extra for all in, it soon pays you back. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

We always go SC to Turkey and we never pay that much. We book flights first and theh book direct with the apartment and it works out a lot cheaper. Or have a look on Travel Republic.

Thanks for all your replies. We've booked AI now so hopefully we'll have a great time as the hotel has got really good reviews on Trip Advisor.
