Hi
Am wondering if some of you kind dentists out there can answer a question for me?
I had dental surgery at my local hospital 13 days ago and had a lot of teeth removed, ive got several stitches which i was told would dissolve in 7-14 days, well they are still there, nothing hurts they just feel uncomfortable!
Should i go back to dentist to get them removed or leave for a while longer?
Thanks in advance

Would get this checked out at the dentist. If for no other reason than reassurance.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

Resorbable sutures do sort themselves out eventually.
I often find they are a little uncomfortable shortly before they break apart as they get a little brittle towards the end.
The silk sutures I used to use, that don't dissolve, stay flexible until you remove them but it is often felt that they are actually less kind to the healing process as the bacteria stick to em better.
If you want to get them removed though it wont do any harm after this length of time.0 -
Thank you, think as you say they are beginning to break up now and maybe that was why they felt a tad uncomfortable!
I will give it til monday and if no improvement visit my dentist!0
