Moving job centre interview

I had to cancel my interview appointment today due to really not feeling well, when I rang up to cancel I was told that I could only get an appointment tomorrow - I have a job interview all day so I can't go - or ring up on monday morning and try to arrange it then because the advisor said that he can't move things a week in advance.

I asked if it would affect my claim and if I'd need to bring anything explaining and the advisor just said to bring proof of my interview.

Is a print out of my emails from the company enough to prove that I've been to the interview? And is it normal for the job centre not to be able to move an appointment to the next week? I'm very tempted to ring again and ask if I can move it to Monday morning as it seems strange that they can't move it a few days forward.

I thought the thread was going to be a tear jerker....re-schedualing perhaps.

That's what I'm asking, I was hoping for a reply to one of my questions, is it normal that they won't let me move it to Monday today and will the emails between myself and the company I'm attending to interview for suffice as prove as to why I can't attend the job centre interview tomorrow.

Yep just bring in the letter ASAP and get them to put it in your notes so the payment team are aware. The advisor probably wants to keep you hence not wanting to move you as that will interupt your signing cycle. Get on the phone today and sort it out they can't expect you to sign over going to an interview its just a case of trying and waiting to speak to someone who has common sense.

Just a reminder that if no signature is tendered they Do not release your money until its present so if you try to get that paper signed by them end of the week you'll be paid next Wednesday.

Thanks, I rang them again and spoke to a different advisor who said to just come in Monday and explain the situation and that will be fine. She's also put a note on my file stating that she has said that I've explained why I couldn't turn up today. She also said that it shouldn't affect my claim as I've signed on at the right time, its just an interview rather than the signing on thing where you state which jobs you've applied for.
