Hen night ideas please help!

Hi being maid of honor i have to organise the hen night but have no idea where to start! we live in norfolk and would be around 3rd march but dont know what to plan.
the obvious one would just go to night clubs and get drunk but wanted something a little more exciting!! she will be 22 if this helps dont mind travelling but would need to stay somewhere! also want it as cheap as possible. there will be 10 or under of us!
Any advice will be great thank you!

find someone with a large living room have a pamper day to start with doing spa treatments on each other - or contact your local college if any students want to come and do it (mine are about 10 quid each and a bottle of wine) then get loads of romance and horror films loads of sweets and popcorn and crap foods, lots of booze and as many stupid kids games as you can find - twister, hungry hippos etc

go and get some cheap trophies and sashes or ribbons and award people as to what they win and then this can be a little memento of the night

just make sure no one has work in the morning!!!!!

im 22 (will be 23) but thats what im doing and cant wait!!!!
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5

hi, I'm having pretty much the same as double mummy. There's about 6 of us and as one of us will be heavily pregnant at the time we aren't doing the whole drunken, out in town thing. We are going for a meal in the afternoon at the local Thai and then coming back to my house and one of my friends is helping with loads of spa treatments. We're going to have cocktails, silly games and some slushy dvds and have a kind of sleepover (although they aren't actually sleeping over. )

For my friends hen do we swept her away to a beautiful spa on the friday, stayed the night then went out drinking on the saturday in the clubs. Was a great weekend :)
  • m not sure if there is anything similar in your area, but i always thought that going along to 'singalonga sound of music' dressed up would be a great laugh, as they have lots of audience participation involved and a dressing up prize too usually! in nottingham there is a small cinema which you can hire out for the evening and play whatever films you want in it, that would also be a great idea so maybe there is something like that? you could take over the cinema and watch your fave films and you could even create your own audience participation (apparently in sound of music you get a bag of props on your chair with a whistle for blowing when the nazis are there and other bits and bobs!)l i think that would be great.
as another thought, sometimes people try to do too much, or go all-out and dont really enjoy their day. if you have a think about who will be going and what sort of things they might like or would totally not like and let that have an influence too. I know someone who sorted out a very expensive weekend away with an initial payout for everyone going of over £200 which didnt even include any food or drinks. people felt like they had to go along rather than hurt the feelings of the bride (the hen was organised without her knowing anything of it). bear in mind people's budgets (but being on MSE im sure that was top of the list!!). good luck!

Sales, boots, charity shops, ebay- why would anyone ever pay full price for anything??!

    I arranged my best friend's earlier this year. We had a glamourous theme. We live pretty near Leeds but this is what I did;

We sent hand made invites out
    Limo to Leeds
Managed to blag Anthony's restaurant to give us their conferencing facilities for free
Went during day to trim up Hollywood stylie
Had cocktail making lesson and prosecco reception (only chanrged for prosecco and singular cocktail, although was an hour long)
nice sit down meal, lots of sparkly chrystals etc on table
Everyone got a little box and thank you card from us (I arranged and bride did cards) had bracelets like pandorra but ebay £20 for 20 silver chains and bought job lot of shoe charms, again, not mega expensive
Then went on to a club where we have vip section of it as I again was a talker with the club owner!

All in all, was v glamourous, she didnt want to go home and everyone pretty much paid for £20 for limo and £25 for meal then drinks on top. Didnt stay over, went back home after so no expense on hotels!
