I have started to get together some food for emegencies, and was wondering if anyone had any recipe ideas which used purely dried/canned/bottled food?

My Mam used to keep a few tins of casserole and tins of veg in the caravan for emergencies.

Once we arrived on a French campsite late Sunday afternoon, and all the local shops had closed, so we had to have tinned casserole and veg. The following day was Assumption, so all the shops were closed to mark the religious day. We'd managed to get some fresh bread from a van that came round the campsite in the morning, but we ended up with the tinned casserole and veg again for our evening meal

vegetarian chilli using TVP (dried soy mince), beans, sweetcorn, tinned tomatoes etc. best with onions but can live without (though seen dried onions?)

and pasta with all manner of sauces of course
