Part Time Job Offer - How Authentic

Hi All,
I have been using this forum since long and have faith on people who advice other honestly, promptly.
I have received an part-time job offer .
The tasks include:
1. Becoming representative for the company
2. Receiving payments from the customers on behalf of the Company in the form of UK cheques
3. Cashing in these cheques in local bank
4. Forward the payments (after deducting percentage) to the company using Moneygram or Western Union Money Transfer
The payments have to be forwarded to the company on weekly basis after deducting the percentage ...thus income is received per week.
Anybody on this forum has received such offer in past ?
As there is money involved in this task, kind-of risky job.
Just wanted to have some advice from other members on this forum about whether to accept this part-time no-sales offer..
All opinions are welcome
Thanks everybody!

Please be aware that:
* No legitimate company will use bank accounts of private individuals for processing payments from its customers.
* No legitimate business will pay 5% and more for international money transfers (for example, $250 out of $5000), when banks provide such services for only $30-50 per transaction and businesses and individuals can set up their own bank accounts in other countries if needed.
* No legitimate company uses private individuals to receive parcels and remail them.
Any job offer that involves any of the above activities is a fraud!
Job offers on the internet such as the ones listed here involve stolen money and stolen goods. If you participate in these scams, even without criminal intent, you could be held liable and face criminal charges. If you have been recruited, contact the police and notify your bank. Do not withdraw any cash wired to your account! Do not forward any parcels mail to your home! Talk to the bank and the police first!0 -
Thanks a lot, Lisa!
You have cautioned me well in advance.0 -
I have no experience of the company... buuuuuuuuuut... Step 4 sounds very dodgy to me. Why not BACS transfer?0

I have heard bad things about this scheme, cant say if it was the same company but i would be very wary of getting involved.
There are two sides to every story.

Sounds like they are taking advantage of naive or desperate people to do their money laundering for them to me.0

I get up to a dozen scam emails offering me jobs like this, best ignored and deleted.0

Sorry have to agree with others does sound dodgy,
Step 3. If these cheques are made payable to you and you forward cash after your bank clears them please be aware that cheques can still bounce after these funds have been made available. I used to work for a high street bank and seen a few people caught out when a cheque's funds were made available and the cheque bounced say after 7 days and was debited from their accound again leaving them overdrawn.
Just be careful.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -
I agree it sounds a bit dodgy to me, i would stay well clear.0

Isn't this money laundering?0

just out of curiosity, how did you come to be offered the job...or was it advertised and you applied....can you provide a name or a link to the firm/trader....more info would be interesting....I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0
