Hi I found all 3 at my local Argos but the site wouldn't let me reserve all 3 at once. I kept getting an error page. I have managed to reserve in 2 lots ie camera and card....... bag on its own. What do you think my chances are/ best approach to getting this fantastic deal ?

    Great spot Thanks

Okay, all fixed....now showing as £99.97:eek:
...won't need my reservation now I guess..oh well........
  • I managed to reserve them BUT wont be convinced I have them till I pick them up tomorrow!!!

Oh well I went for the deal today and guess what... I came out with NOTHING!!!!
They would not honour the price and tried all ways to get out of it saying"
1)the "£60 is only off the camera cos the higher price was £149.** but I was quick to point out that the difference from £149.** to the price is was stating was £75.** (she did look alittle embarrassed)
    2) she said that " You dont get £60 off you SAVE £60" EH!!!
    3) she said (there is no way Im selling a camera for £14.99!!!
She called Store Support and then Consumer Law Dept.
All they would do is knock me £10 off the price of the camera.

I have the print outs of the screens displaying the offer from last night so Im going to contact our local friendly trading Standards Guy to find out my rights.

I stated after they admited it was their error that they should honour it.

Her answer was, Even if we have a poster up in store advertising a toy for example, and it had the incorrect price on, That poster is " Only an invitation to Buy" we do not have to sell you it at that price!!!!!

    What a LOAD OF BALLS!!!!:confused::confused::confused:

I think you'll find that this is correct.

Totally right. I think it becomes a total different kettle of fish if you've actually paid for the item. Then they are deemed to have accepted the price stated.

Right OK bear with me here and reply offering advice.

Today I went into my local Argos Store with the printout of the three products at £39.97. They only had the SD card in stock. The assistant then checked around the county for stock of the other two items. They were both in stock at one store, so she rang them and asked if it would be OK to redeem the offer there but buy one of the items- SD card- at this store.

They said it would be fine, I have now bought the SD card for £17.49 and reserved the other two items-camera and bag- at the other store. So, as I have paid for one and the other store has agreed to do the offer there do you think they will actually go through with? There might me a little dubious but still allow me to get the offer do you think.

    If they say no, then

    1. I've bought the SD card at £17.49
    2. I will have travelled 25 miles to pick up the other two
    3. The assistant at my store said yes I could redeem the offer
    4. The assistant at the other store said it would be OK
    5. I've got proof of the £39.97 price

so considering that are they obliged to sell me the bundle offer deal?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

  • Hi, new guy here - thought I should register and reply as this may help someone, I reserved the camera and accessories last night for £39, I phoned customer services this morning (number on confirmation email, but they put me through to another department, answered with 'customer service' though) I explained the offer was there last night when I reserved, and that I had the confirmation. The lady was very helpful, and she told me that they had ALL had a memo this morning explaining that if we have the print out of the confirmation, then they HAVE to honour the price, as the deal clearly stated UNTIL 19th JANUARY. She then gave me a reference number as regards to the phonecall incase I had trouble in store.
Well, I went to pick them up, and sure enough they wanted over £100 pounds, so I explained about my phonecall and gave them the printout and the reference number, after keeping me waiting about 30 minutes the manager came back and told me that because I had the printout they have to honour the price. Si I got them for £39.98 or something. Unfortunately they kept the printout so I cant help with the reference number, but I have the reciept for payment, surely if they have sold it to me, they should sell it to you?? Anyway, I hope this helps someone.
Cheers - and many thanks to the original poster, great deal
(the camera bag is way to big for the camera, but who cares lol, you get a case in the box with it anyway)
