Was just about to hit the "pay now" button on flybe when I noticed the 2 flights I was happy to pay £129 for then shot up to £149 because I was gonna use a credit card. So I just stopped the transaction then noticed it was still £129 if I had used a Visa electron..!

They all do it! and even charge per person per flight rather than a one off fee

thats awful! I thought my recent £9 on british airways was steep. I'm sure this was covered on watchdog fairly recently and there were plans to put either a law or some regulations into place to prevent companies from being able to do this.0

When we booked a holiday with Thomas Cook recently we had to pay £40 for paying by credit card. It makes my blood boil :mad:0

I agree it is shocking, get yourself a Halifax visa electron card, you just need to fill in an application form online and mine arrived in a couple of weeks, handy to have for booking flights. HTH0 -
I wouldn't mind so much if it just gave you the cost of the entire flight right at the start, but when I think I'm getting a bargain flight, my heart sinks a little each time there is something added on, baggage, credit cards, seats, etc...0

Actual cost of a credit or debt card transaction per person - 20p
The flying gypsies (ryanair) charge £6 per personothers are similar:(
The OFT have promised this will end soon for debt cards and companies must give the total cost at the start of the process of booking.
Oh yeah and monkeys might fly out of my butt:rotfl:
OFT another toothless quango
Vote with your feet if you can folks, unfortunately we don't have a full range of options from our wee country, but Monarch have scrapped the charge and Jet2 are a flat fee of £4.99.I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
