A good idea to move?

Hi peeps,

We have the opportunity to buy a really nice property seems to be well priced too. The couple are moving to France so really could also be a bit of haggling.

We however have to sell our current property in the meantime although it is a apartment and they seem to go quite quickly as it's a popular development.

Would it be a good idea to move at the moment? after speaking to the bank its going to cost around 1k in terms of deposit on the next property going off us both getting our asking prices.

Obviously there are product and valuation fees on top plus the other bits and bats involved.

Just concerned with the current climate that prices may drop further. The new property is in a very good area and houses often don't come up for sale there. nice views peaceful the lot.

What you think?

Thanks

With houses, you can't choose when the right one comes along.

So the decision is much about heart strings as financial cost.

As long as you treat a property as a home not an investment you won't go wrong.

    What area are you in?
House prices may fall further in most of the UK but London seems to be bucking the trend somewhat, especially in particular areas
  • Hi based in west Yorkshire. It would be a house to stay in for years to come. Just nervous about buying at the mo.

I'll have a think, can anyone reccomend any good mortgage deals at the mo? Currently with RBS however recently saw Santander are doing 5% deposits. Is it easily enough to switch or is it best staying put.

    Cheers
