Mineral makeup question

Options
Hi! I was hoping for some advice regarding mineral makeup from all you experts out there.

I am currently using Bare Minerals foundation (have used a few brands of mineral makeup including Lily Lolo & Elemental beauty) but this is the one I like best.

I love the finish I get, but with all mineral makeups the one thing I can't get right is the inside corners of my eyes - you know the dark bits.
I've used the special mineral concealer, and the mineral foundation itself, with the concealer brush - both wet and dry. It always ends up going really cakey and horrible looking in this area. Don't have a problem on the rest of my face.

Anyone successfully use minerals to conceal dark circles, and if so, what's your technique? I'd be very grateful to know.

Thanks :)

Have you tried using a primer? How do you mean cakey; as in it goes into fine lines? It's a tricky area to apply powder anyway, but if you use a small yet fluffy brush and build it up very slowly then hopefully that should minimise any caking.
Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Have you tried mixing the mineral powder concealer with a little moisturiser before applying it? It stops the "cakey" look.

I use a eyeshadow blending brush for concealers. I use a tiny amount and gently buff - layering away. I do use a few different ones. the bisque and summer bisque, a concealer from ELF and one from EB called eye bright( or bright eyes).

Thanks, will try primer and mixing it with moisturiser. I'm not sure cakey is the right word but I can't think how else to describe it. It's not settling into lines as I don't have lines on the inside corners of my eyes - just the outside!! I don't find the minerals settle into the lines there at all. If I can't get it to work I might have to switch back to liquid concealer for my circles.

Maybe I need to build it up more gradually. I do have a tendency to put a whole load of it on at once. Do you not like the Bare Escentuals concealer brush or have you not tried it? Just wondering if the brush I'm using is no good.
    Thanks

Ive got two concealer brushes - neither I like to use around the eye area. Actually I find the eyeshadow brush works best. Its a wee stubby blending brush and I just swirl a tint amount in it and buff away real gently.

Me too :) I always use a concealer brush for application and then an eyeshadow brush for blending, but then again I use liquid concealer so it's a bit different.

    different - but the same

its the blending. Too much product and its going to cake - be it liquid or mineral. The concealer brushes I do use on where I need to put heavy concealer in one go - like the green corrector on a red spot, but the eye area - softly, gently, slowly

Thanks everyone. Tried this morning using my regular concealer brush but applying more gradually over a primer. Still didn't like the effect.
Tomorrow I'll try mixing with moisturiser and if that doesn't work I'll look into getting an eyeshadow brush for blending.
    Many thanks again
