they answer emails with a arrogance ignorance

also fastmower when you yank the money back they will send the "money they claim" you owe them to a debt collector

    like my case

webbilling.com ignore like the plague and if you have the misfortune to deal with them i feel for you"

I have also cancelled the webbilling direct debit and have now received 2 emails demanding 2 separate amounts. I'm tempted to ignore it, but would like to know what you did when you received a similar email? Hope somebody out there can help, many thanks.

stop signing up for porno sits then!
  • My issue with webbiling is that i dont have a credit card, only a debit card and when i tried using it to pay for a £1 subscription for something i have no recollection of now, managed to get my bank to stop the payments but now they are starting again.

I have emailed them after reading previous suggestions and will await their response, if any, if nothing within a week i will threaten legal action and see if that motivates them!

If anyone has any other suggestions i will gladly hear them out!

You need to cancel it with Web Billing. Legal Action will be of no use, they have not done anything wrong. You've subscribed to an Adult or Gambling or Dating site or something similar for £1 then forgot to cancel it, payments are collected on a reoccurring subscription basis.

They also direct debit people who have definitely not signed up for the services listed - this happened to my wife (see her blog, which you can find easily by searching for 'hands off my money webbilling.com', where she also explains how to get them off your back) and where do they get the bank direct debit authorization from anyway? They also pursue the so-called debts aggressively, as described in other articles in the thread. It is clear that something is wrong: you don't find so many articles and questions about the behaviour of other payment companies, such as PayPal or WorldPay, for example, in a Google search. Regular direct-debiting of people's accounts, without permission, without a signature on a direct debit mandate, and threatening those who stop the payments when they don't get a proper answer from them must be illegal, or in any case should be stopped. When we spoke to the police they weren't interested even though this must have happened to thousands of people by now. What's the betting the authorities continue to do nothing for many more years? It seems to me that their behaviour amounts to fraud: it goes well beyond sloppy business practice.

its not actually direct debits, its subscription billing. you need to cancel the subscription with web-billing, they rely on you forgetting after a free or $1 initial charge to a certain website.

i've dealt with numerous complaints about this sort of thing in previous jobs. after investigating, 9 times of out 10 its a adult website the customer has forgotten about or wont admit to signing up to. some of which usually admit to it later down the line.

If I were you, i'd raise questions that your wife signed up with adult friend finder!

Hi I have a problem with this company. they've charged me £60. I've gone to their website and also the website where I signed up and tried to cancel membership. I have no response from either.

    What are my options now?
