i used to be able to get an absolutely gorgeous jewish bread, it was plaited and had an almost croissant/brioche type texture

Word of note, unlike many breads I find Challah freezes quite poorly, going very crumbly on defrosting. Certainly OI've never succeeded in slicing a defrosted one satisfactorily, so if its to be frozen slice before freezing!
  • Any recipes for sticky poppyseed cake? I can't seem to see any on the posted links!
  • Just to let people know, this is all askenazi Jewish food. There is a whole separate cuisine based around more middle eastern/Turkish/Spanish food from the sephardi Jewish community.

My vote is for Yummies bakery in Radlett... Top quality bagels
