A coupon is an invitation to treat (a contract), so it would be a bit hard of them to start imposing arbitrary T&C's after the horse has bolted?0

it might not say on coupon t&c, but they may have general t&c that say no coupons/gift cards for lottery tickets0

Terms and Conditions
1. The WHSmith Privilege Club scheme is operated by WHSmith High Street Limited of Greenbridge Road, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 3LD. WHSmith may, at its sole discretion, refuse to register an application and may withdraw the scheme from a participant at any time.
2. To redeem a voucher, you must present it to the sales assistant at the till before your transaction begins. You will not be able to redeem a voucher by giving it to the sales assistant after the end of the transaction.
3. The free vouchers are allocated in separate vouchers and only towards the cost of specific items as detailed on the vouchers.
4. This voucher entitles you to £5 off when you spend £15 in store. Subject to availability. Offer valid on purchases until Sunday July 24th 2011 at selected WHSmith High Street stores only. Offer excludes CDs, DVDs, Console Games and Hardware.
5. Excludes Outlet Stores, Online, Books by WHSmith at Selfridges Stores and Travel Stores including those at airports, railway stations, motorway service stations, hospitals and workplaces. £15 spend applies to the total transactional value after all discounts have been applied.
6. Not in conjunction with any other offer or promotional voucher. Photocopies will not be accepted. No cash alternative. WHSmith reserves the right to reject any voucher it deems, in its sole discretion, to have been forged, defaced or otherwise tampered with.
7. Vouchers cannot be redeemed against purchases of book tokens, charity products, cigarettes, gift vouchers, e-gift cards, Day Out vouchers, e-books, e-readers, National Lottery products, iTunes, phonecards, E-top Up cards, stamps, theatre tokens, book tokens, tobacco, and certain other goods which may be notified from time to time.
8. In the event of the failure of any equipment used to operate the WHSmith Privilege Club scheme, WHSmith may refuse to redeem a voucher on any transaction.
9. Vouchers have no cash value. If you obtain a refund on goods purchased in whole or part by redeeming a voucher, then only the actual sum tendered will be refunded.
10. Any printed statements made by WHSmith High Street Limited, regarding the WHSmith Privilege Club scheme, form part of these terms and conditions.
11. WHSmith may amend or terminate the WHSmith Privilege Club scheme or amend any of these terms and conditions at any time, by giving notice to participating stores.
