I am trying to work out whether to change energy suppliers at the moment or not, and whether to go on a fixed tarrif but that's a whole other story....
Anyway, energyhelpline are telling me I could save nearly £200 by switching to Co-operative, but when I went onto the Co-operative site and used their own calculator it announced that my annual saving would be the princely sum of 29 quid! :rotfl:
Any ideas what's going on here?!
TIA

Hi
What tariff are you on?
Did you input you annual kwh gas/electric consumption on both sites?
I did a comparison and Co-op was about £90 a year more than my current tariff npower's SOL 21.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
There's a £59 off deal on now but expires soon. Not sure if this is for Co-op members only.
What I like about it is there is one rate for elec & one rate for gas.
Seems more honest than all the others.Nice to save.0 -
Energyhelpline and Moneysupermarket and the Coop's own website show me exactly the same saving of £101 p.a. for my Electricity (I'm single fuel only) against my current Scottish Power Online Saver 10.
They also give you a discount of £50 off the first bill and Coop points so it's the best single fuel cashback. There is no exit penalty fee so if and when the coop put their prices up and possibly become uncompetitive I am free to switch at any time without penalty.
Needless to say I've switched to the Coop as fixed deals were only locking me into higher prices, lower cashback and exit penalties.
EDIT: £50 discount is on until 22 July and you become a Coop member automatically, if not one already, when you sign up.

I am currently on Southern Electric's standard online no service charge. Since I only use about £6 in gas a year I'm only looking at electricity and I put in annual consumption on both sites.
Since Energyhelpline is telling me that amount of electricity will cost me £972 from Co-operative and Co-operative themselves are quoting me £1,130 then I think I have to believe Co-operative, really. It is confusing though. :undecided But I do agree that I like their transparency, some of the suppliers have plans and tarriffs which are completely unintelligible.0
