Income for Busy Mums

I'm due to give birth in December and intend to continue as a care assistant on a casual basis.
I've just registered self employed, as well as for the extra NI contributions. Have registered with loads of mystery shopping companies, but i'm looking for any ideas.
I would also love any information as to what i need to keep for tax purposes. Is it good enough just to keep your bank statements and paypal statements, as this is where the income would be going. I'm guessing the ms companies also give you some sort of monthly statement type thing.
Any handy information is always welcome.

Congrats on the baby!
From the MS companies I'm registered with, I don't get monthly statements from any apart from payslips I get from Retail Maxim.
Some let you see a history of payments but many don't.
Best thing to do it set up a spreadsheet with the fee you get along with any reimbursements and then any costs you incur which are not paid for. To be honest you should just aim to break even with travel costs and such and just be happy for the free stuff (for tax purposes anyway!)
When your baby is born, could you babysit or childmind for anyone else for a bit of extra cash?
Do you have a spare room you could rent out until the baby comes?
More profitable ideas tend to be more difficult (matched betting/gambling introductory offers) but definitely pay off!0 -
Thanks for all the info. I though i'd probably get away with a spreadsheet and receipts etc, but just wanted to make sure.
As you say, expensive time so anything is better than nothing!£2024 in 20240
