So thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone, need a laptop and my phone contract is running out so thought for the same price I am paying now I can get a new laptop too included with a phone contract ........
Applied to Phones4U, got rejected, joys... now getting a random number calling me... appears to be Baines and Ernst... surely Phones4u don't pass on your info to a DMP company because your credit rating is shot to pieces?!

When I applied for credit I was bombarded with calls from a dca and my number had previously been ex directory, so I'm not sure how they got the call, but I didn't think it was a coincedence! They may be calling you in relation to an outstanding debt as I don't think they offers debt management etc.If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

hmmm but I have 3 'debts' all with Halifax all paid and up to date, I have a gym membership and mobile phone contract also all up to date... bit worrying...Life is too short not to love what you do.0

Wouldn't suprise me at all - after all B&E and other DMP providers have to get names and numbers from somewhere. I guess it will be whoever was underwriting the agreement rather than phone4u itself that sold your details on.
Still, it should be illegal.
Edit - just seen the other posts - B&E are a paid debt management company/IVA provider etcA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
so B&E would be trying to sell me a DMP or something?Life is too short not to love what you do.0

Yep - or telling you they could write off up to 75% of your debt due to "new" government legislation..........A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
