can anyone help last sat i recived a letter from wage day advance saying i hav 7 days to start paying back the loan i recived 2 months ago this was the first id heard ov it. i rang them and told them it must hav been a fraudulent claim but they said all the information they had on me was correct and they were going to persue me for the money. i checked their website and it says loans in a min so the info they hav on me cant be extensive i contacted the police and they told me it was the lenders responsability to contact the financial crimes line as the crime had been comited on them. but if they dont admit a crime has been commited they can keep after me for the money and ill be the one with a bailif knocking at my door. i would appericiate any advice anyone could give or helpline nos. thanx

I would ask for details of the loan - when it was taken out, what identity information they were given and for a copy of the signed agreement.
Then start thinking about who has access to your post...DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

I would write to wage day advance. Tell them you have no knowledge of the loan and that they need to provide you with further information.
They'll be able to check what email account was use - was it one of yours or not?, and what bank account the payday loan was paid to. If that bank account is not in your name that will obviously help your case. Have you checked to see if they have tried to take any money out your bank account for repayment of the loan? If its not your loan it should be easy to prove via the bank accounts etc and clear up the matter with them.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
And also ask for the originators IP address as it wont match yours if you didnt take out the loan then collecting anything from you wont happen, you just need to be very pushy with them to resolve this before they pass it on to debt collectors.0

thanks for the advice but ive tryed most ov your ideas i found out the loan was completed april 25th but they wouldnt tell me anything else as im claiming that the person who recived the loan wasnt me ive checked my bank statments and there is nothing on them from wage day advance They are now asking me to send my bank statment to them showing this. i am understandably weary about doing that as they could just withdraw the money.0

Quite right. Don't send them anything or give them any details at all. They will raid your account.
If they have been defrauded then, as the Police told you, let them report the crime.0 -
Write a complaint to them and send it to their Head Office recorded delivery. They should forward your complaint to their fraud department to look into. Get a copy of their complaints procedure and exhaust it if they dont pass to the fraud team for resolution.
This happened to me but it was credit cards and the fraud departments all got me to sign a statement that it wasnt me etc and I had to prove I wasnt at the address at the time - I had just moved house so that was easy.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -
Don't send them your statement. As Jinx says you need to write to them explaining the situation.
It should be very easy for you to prove it wasn't a loan you took out. Equally if it was your loan it would be very easy for them to prove it was.
As an aside if this was taken out by someone else then get copies of yor credit reports to ensure there are no other items/searches you don't recognise.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
