Applying for mortgage - worried

Hi
Through my FA I have applied for a fixed rate mortgage with Accord Mortgages. They originally agreed my mortgage ... but now are asking such stupid questions and I'm worried they're going to change their mind and I'll lose my flat.
My situation is I am seperated from my husband, although we still share the same house, but it has now been sold, I am using the equity for the deposit for my flat.
Accord are asking for a letter from a solicitor to prove I am legally separated from my husband. First problem - we have not approached any solicitors - the split is very amicable, and we were waiting until the house was sold and all monies sorted before starting divorce procedings to keep things simple. But why would Accord need see this anyway - the house is sold, I have the money - I don't understand!! According to the calculator on their site, they would loan me up to £165k, and I'm only borrowing £136k with a 15% deposit.
Secondly - they seem to be confused as I'm a twin and once had a mortgage with my sister, I think they suspect something fishy, because even though I have provided a utility bill, driving licence and bank statements with my home address on, they still want proof I live at my address.
I really am so stressed about all this now ... I don't know how I can prove I am separated from my husband, and how else I can prove I live where I live.
Why is this so hard? I have the money - they can see that, I have a good credit, I've never missed payments on anything or anything like that
any advice gratefully received!!!!!

My advice?
Call your FA.0 -
And not call the bank direct myself?
My FA is now on holiday for a week, so been passed to a colleague.
Thanks for your reply
