I have had problems with MBNA for a few months now but i have gotten no where i hope someone can help me?
i have had an MBNA CC for about 5 years now and stupidly used the full credit limit when i was a student ever since i have struggled to pay this off as they charge me a huge amount of interest plus overlimit fees and late payment fees
my credit limit is £3000
my current balance is 3348.12
I work full time but struggle to cover all the bills i pay £100 a month which is streching my budget as it is. but as soon as i pay this they charge me:
Overlimit fee of £12
Late payment fee of £12
Interest usually about £80
so after all those have come avi hout im right back to square one. MBNA have called me a few times and i have tried explaining to them about my tight budget bu tall they will do is offer me a secured loan (which i wouldent get cos my credit scoring is rubbish) or a long term solution which would cost me about £140 a month which is to much and im not intersted in as i just want to get my CC below my Credit limit then pay it off from there but they are not willing to help me with this anyone got any ideas???? i have tried explaing so many times that the max i can pay is £100 a month i tried asking them to stop the interest for a few months so i can get back under the credit limit but they wernt willing to help at all plz help

Speak to national debt line free of charge. They will help you write a letter to stop all charges and interest but the account will be cancelled and they will come up with a payment plan that u can afford maybe less than you are paying now.
Have u asked mbna to do this yet? you have to put it in writing ask them to freeze it all and offer them a certain amount. your credit rating will be shot because of all late payments so u have nothing to lose. unfortunately have had dealings with them in the past they are not helpful and when i was struggling to pay them they put interest up to 30% lucky came into some money and paid them off. if u rent where u live that cant put a charge on your property so they are better off helping you to repay ther money. i think you may be able to do something about the ridiculous payments they are applying to your account as well they may be able to help get some of them refunded. hope this helps good luck
just realised u must own your house dont secure it not worth it dont let them bak u in a corner uthere is free help out there xxxMum 30k/29000
