Deed store recommendations?

I've finally paid off the mortgage and Halifax have sent me a form asking where to send the deeds.
Obviously, I'll get them sent to the house. But I would prefer to store them safely somewhere.
Halifax used to have a deed store service. They keep the deeds safe for a small annual sum. But they don't seem to so this nowadays. (Maybe because banks can now go under?)
Any recommendations?

It's nothing to do with banks going under. If you really want to know, google "bradford & bingley deeds store fire."
Try asking your own bank about a safe deposit box if you're really that bothered. Remember with registered land, the deeds pack is now pretty much just a historical file on the property and not really needed to prove title.
Here's the synopsis;-

Most banks offer safe keeping, for a small annual charge. This is where I keep my deeds, share certificates, life ins policies etc. You can normally have envelopes, for documents, or you can supply a small lockable box (like a cash box) if you wish to store jewellery.
Some banks offer safe deposit boxes (eg HSBC Pall Mall branch) where you rent a box from the bank that only you have the key to - like in the movies. (In fact, HSBC Poultry's safe deposit was used in various films). These boxes are far more expensive but some people prefer them. Before you ask, yes, I work for a bank, but no, I didn't get a bonus!0 -
As kingstreet says, if the property is registered then the documents are not of any real value.
Make some photocopies if they are that interesting and leave with a relative (in case of fire) and keep the originals under the bed.
I certainly wouldn't be paying anyone for storage, however little.0
