Harrassment by debt collection agency's

Hi there,

I am hoping someone can help with a problem we are having...

I would like to know what I can do regarding debt collecton agencys and baliffis sending letters to our house threatening to visit us.
we gots dozen every weeks andfrom different companies and I think its harrassment.
My family and I moved into out current property 12 months ago and since that time we have had lots of letters addressed to another person that doesnt live at the address. One day we got fed up of taking the letters back to the post office and opened one of them only to find that it was a parking fine for a guy that doesnt live here. we called the company to explain and they basically told us that they didnt believe us and that they were sending someone out for the fine and court costs. We have also wrote to the DVLA to tell them that the guy doesnt live at our address and has never done so in the past (we asked our landlord). I am worried that they will come to our house whilst we are at work and our 14 year daughter will be in the house on her own. Do you have any advice or a letter template we could use to complain about harassment?

Write to them all with a general 'final warning'...just use your common sense. Return all letters as not known and tell the DCA if they should be so stupid as to call in person at the house to get lost. Educate your daughter about not letting strangers in, she's 14 so more of an adult really and just ignore any further correspondence. They'll get bored eventually. Or, report them en mass to the OFT.
