Just had a PV system installed- Cheshire

So thought we'd introduce ourselves and more importantly our system.
We were originally quoted for 16x SANYO H240's, but due to high demand our fitters couldn't source them until the end of the month (at the earliest) - so after a discussion we agreed that we would go with having 16x SANYO N235's - although slightly lower rated we didn't think it would make too much difference.
This is the system we have had installed (this week-end).
SMA 4000 tl inverter
SMA sunny beam display
16x SANYO N235's
and a schuco mounting system.
Our roof is approx.' 12m x 4m, pitch is about 23 - 25 degree and facing (SE) -45 degrees.
We have a reasonably sunny day with some clouds and we've generated 22.5 KWh (up to now) and on a rainy/cloudy day yesterday we generated 12KWh (think I've used the right terms).

Hi
Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the 'generating club' ..... good to see that it's been mainly sunny with some clouds in Cheshire .... it's been mainly cloudy with some sun here, so we will end the day a few kWh (yes you did use the correct terminology
) behind your final figures for today.

Hi Aliray. Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like a nice system you have there.
FITs application can sometimes take a while, so you have to be patient. Still waiting for mine to be approved, 3.5 months and counting.
If your looking for somewhere to log and compare your PV data, I recommend PVOutput.org
Feel free to join our "United Kingdom" team on there as well if you wish.
Happy generating

Keep an eye on those figures - we're a bit further North than you and had Sharp panels installed which are nowhere near as efficient as Sanyo and we generated 28kwh yesterday on a sun/shade day. I'd be expecting you to generate at least that much with your combination.Target of wind & watertight by Sept 2011

We're also in Cheshire with 17 x Sanyo HIT-N235 and the same inverter and mounts as you and yesterday we only got 21.40 kWH so you are doing well. We do have a little bit of shading in the early morning and bear in mind that the panels give an abnormally high output for the first few weeks.0 -
Hi
.... and we're a bit further south & ended up with 18.7kWh, so your figures are just fine ..... thats the nature of location. There have been days where a line of cloud has streamed over our house all day, with clear blue sky visible within a few miles either side. To have achieved over 20kWh/d within the first couple of days of having a system is quite lucky ...

Surely a higher efficiency panel just makes it smaller?
i.e. a 225wp panel of any make will produce the same output under the same conditions of 'sunlight' temp etc.0 -
Thanks everybody for the responses.Hi Aliray. Welcome to the forum.

We didn't realise that FIT applications could take as long as that.

We've not heard that- do you have any info that we can read. thanks0 -
I'm not allowed to post links yet, but I've found this www. genohm .eu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=32&Itemid=28
During the first few weeks Thin Film or A-si has an additional BONUS output, 30% above the output stated (for example, a 100Wp A-si panel will produce 150W~170W for its first few week output).
If the stated output is 100Wp, it will drop less than 1% from this rated output (If you calculate the drop of the extra 30% BONUS as a loss you get 30% apparent loss, when in fact its real loss was 0%).0
