  • Does it come with a FREE Vista upgrade?
If not that could add a few pounds at a later date if you want it?
I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

Better to be approximately right than precisely wrong.

for the sake of another £11.75 I would upgrade it to include:-

9 Cell, 85Whr Lithium Ion Primary Battery [add £11.75]

to give you decent battery life

Vista upgrade is £36 but I would'nt bother , Xp is fine

  • I bought the same spec from Dell Reconditioned approx 10 months ago (infact, am typing reply on said machine at the moment) for £350. So it's not that much of a bargain...

The nice thing about Dell Outlet is that it's still covered by a normal Dell warrenty :D . As it's returned stock, the turnover of machines is very high, so you need to keep checking back to make sure you get exactly what you want [ as at the moment, stock appears a little low - check back during the new year, if you can wait that long].

Firstly I agree with Browntoa. Invest in the better battery
and also about the Vista thing. Be patient. If it's not broke don't fix it.

Secondly it is a good deal. Free delivery would be nice though..

Thirdly, I'm starting to sound like an advert for Acer..
but trust me, have a look at their "Crystalbrite" thingy laptop screens.
A lot of smaller local computers shops flog Acers so just go and have a look at the screens. They're out there starting from approx 400 quid.
I'm used to seeing the sub £500 Dell laptops and the difference in screen quality just astonished me.
Toshiba have similiarly clear screens to Acer.

By the way the Acer notebook I bought has pretty weak sound.
Wireless pickup is about the same as a Dell laptop.
  • Thanks for the comments,it is free delivery at the moment the price shown is all in.

    .

Now thats a good trick seeing as dell didnt start listing this model on the main site until November 2006.

You might have bought an Inspiron 1300 but thats not the same as a 1501, totally different chassis/case and fitted with AMD cpu not Intel like the 1300.
  • its a fairly good price i'd check the dell outlet though sometimes they have some nice bargains in there :)
  • Thanks I will try that, tempted by this deal also though ! a dilemma.

Anyone got any other dell deals worth a mention?

i'd go for it :), a quick look on the outlet didn't show anything that comparable the only ones for under 400 were amd semprons not turions and turions are much better :) )
