Drowning and cant get out

Hi

Not sure if anybody can help but I just need to spout off. Ive contacted CCS, just waiting for my latest statement to come through and then I can send it off.

Not paid a penny this month to my debts (will send a token) and I still dont seem to have any money. Everytime I turn around there is another bill that needs paying so the money I put away to pay my first instalment to CCS disappears. The fact is I get a decent salary and will be able to pay once I got on top of everything.

I got into stupid debt (circumstances changed last year and was making ends meet) with several payday loan companies and this is what has taken up all my spare cash. Ive not paid them this month now but I still cant seem to be getting ahead. In fact I seem to be drowning in debt and just cannot see a lifeline anywhere at the moment.

Im working but cant concentrate, so making stupid mistakes, crying constantly when nobody looking, suffering anixety thinking something terrible is happening and last night had my first panic attack when sat with friends. Constant headache for the last 2 weeks. Im trying to sort my life out but getting nowhere. I hate to be a winger cos I got myself into this but I just cant see anywhere to go.

To anybody who reads this Im just venting off so apologise for the winge.

Michelle

    Hi

Can you start by posting your SOA?

And can you advise what is happening with the Payday loans.

Have you made sure they cannot get at any of your income this month?

    Hi michelle

Sorry it all seems so tough at the moment. Are you keeping a spending diary to keep track of where your money is going? Just thinking that you need to check when you do get the DMP underway that you have accounted for everything you need in your outgoings.

Hopefully when the DMP is up and running you will stay to feel a lot better about all your finances and happier generally with things.
Don't worry about having a bit of a moan on here - always welcome, we all know how money and debts can get on top of you and take over everything else at times.

    Hi

    Thanks for your replies.

Ive done a SOA and the only thing I can cut down on is lunches at work, which Ive started doing. I no longer go out, the problem is is that I borrowed from friends and family to help me get through and everytime I think Ive paid them all another one comes out to bit me on the bum, so to speak.

Ive changed my bank account over and the cheques that I cashed with the payday companies will just have to go into my old bank account and Im hoping the overdraft fees will be lower than those charges. My son has offered to pay these back for me over the next couple of months but the companies will not accept this, so they will have to go onto an unauthorised overdraft and put it in my DMP - cant see any other way.

Until the DMP gets underway there will be issues, but in the grand scheme of things it will calm down, easier said than done when you are in the middle of it.

Take back some control, start a spending diary, write up your budget, start looking for all the little ways you could save money. I find taking control soothes me, if you want second opinions then feel free to post up here, if you want another rant this is also a good place to come!

    Good luck

    Hi Michelle,

The first thing is not to panic. You're not alone, and from now on, things can only get better. I really would put up a SOA, you'd be surprised what the folks on here can save you!

My first thing is always to ebay/amazon/carboot anything not nailed down. That way your debt gets a quick jolt. I think you also have to work out exactly what you owe to whom, and the rate of interest. Then put them in order and attack them one at a time. You're spreading yourself too thin my love, ad it's just making you feel worse. Family debt, although not pleasant shouldn't really be the priority. I would tell them all 'Look, I've got myself into a bit of a pickle - I can't pay you back until XXX, but it will be in full rather than the little bits I've been giving you.' Hopefully they will be ok with that and then take the pressure off.

    Keep us updated chick xx
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I myself feel very depressed about having no spare money either. I work full time as does my other half, but where the money goes i do not know. I hate being in this situation and short of a miracle i wonder how things will ever get better. I feel just talking to others who understand helps, so take heart you are not alone in your struggle.

    Take care,
