What could happen? Running away from debt

Someone who used to work for me left the UK last month. He hadn't been paying his bills for some time and I believe he left a loan of approx. £30K outstanding. Since he left I've also received final demands from 4 suppliers for fairly small amounts (<£500 each) and one of these- council tax- now has a court summons. This…

well you don't need it do you Mrs Sparkle?!! Proof if you needed it that people refusing to face up and pay their debts is not a "victimless crime" – it has knock-on effects for all sorts of innocent people. What a pain, I hope his actions catch up with him. In the meantime I agree with the other posters, make it clear that he was a former employee and nothing else.
