how long to take to get a halifax loan?

hiya,

anyone know how long it takes to get a halifax loan when you apply inside the bank? is the money avaiable immediatley or a few days later?

Hi, I don't work for Halifax, but where I work it could be one of two things.

If you are instantly accepted (i.e. have very good credit), and you have with you any ID etc that the bank requires, they can print the loan forms off there and then, press a few buttons and the money is in your account either immediately or overnight, depending on the bank and it's systems.

If you are not immediately approved, the application will need to go elsewhere for approval; normally a central site somewhere else in the UK. This site probably has a turnaround time agreed of 3 days or something.

If they approve it, they will fax/email the approval to the branch, who will then call you to come in and sign. Alternatively, they may have questions, which they will advise to the branch who in turn will ring you and ask you for the info. Process then repeated.

I'd give it a week then go back in.

My dad applied on the phone and was accepted immediately and was told to come down straight away to pick up the money.


He's retired and got £8000 that day so its probably being checked out by someone first.
