Bargain DVD Player

I was looking for a cheap DVD player and wow I found it at Amazon, the starlogic dvd player at £24.99 is a real bargain, it plays everything, I'm not a real techno but I have DVD'S from USA, Thailand, and Hong Kong and it plays all the diffrent regions. Grab it while you can I've been really pleased with mine.:D

Sainsburys are doing a Cello dvd-8105 in-store only at the moment for £34.99. A great player, that plays everything and is multi-region out of the box. It plays Divx and Xvid as well.

Not everything, it does not play divx from what I can see.

Isn't it amazing how the price of DVD players has plummeted over the last 2 years? Not so long ago (about 4 years) we bought a Wharfdale one from Tescos for £180 and it was then, the bargain of all time!

I saw a Toshiba one the other day for £30 in Richer Sounds and they had a Panasonic for £40 - how can they even make them for that amount?

I've had the Cello player for over a month now and for the price it is a very good player. It has all the main outputs including component and progressive scan. It has an onboard 5.1 decoder. It doesn't have the badge for DTS but if you have a surround sound system and you play a DTS DVD, the light on the unit switches to DTS. A nice added bonus. The player is imported by Key Electronics.

Having just read this thread I drove to Sainsburys in Courthouse Green, Coventry - no DVD players! Gutted...

Anyone any idea if there are any around my area? They claim never to have had any in.

Sounds just perfect to replace my dying eBench.

just bought a samsung divx dvd player online instead for £39.99 including free delivery...

thought i'd stick to a brand i know and can't find it cheaper anywhere else!
