Hi,
Need some help really. There are so many threads on coinstar - opinions are divided - some people love them and some think its too much to pay commision on your changing your coins.
In most of threads people mention that some banks have machines which are similar to coinstar and pay the change directly into your account.
Trying to find one in the midlands area - so please post on this thread if you know where they are. Thank you! The only bank i've found searching the old threads is:
Barclays Bank in woking

I dint even bother looking for coinstar machines. I bought myself a pair of digital scales and just weigh the bags (i counted out the first bag) until i get the correct weight. Much easie rthan having to count them all out and you dont have to pay any commission (and the scales ont cost me a fiver)No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

its not the actual coinstar machines - i'm talking about a kind of similar machine - you put all the coins in the machine (which is in a bank) and then the total amount of cash gets paid into your bank account(no commission is taken) its a sort of paying in machine - and it means you don't have to count it all up and weigh/bag it yourself.0

you can get electric change sortes from home bargains and you can only fit a set amount of change in each tube eg £1 or £2 then bag up the change from there.
But as for the ops question no sorry dont know of any.If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

The Barclays in Brighton has one of these machines, but everytime I lug my coins over it's broken!0

I got a change sorter as well (crimbo present last year!!) but they are not exactly accuarte, plus the tubes dont hold an ideal amount, ie 50 5ps, (holds 40) so you have to do some counting or weighting.
Anyway, for those that want them. (All +/- 1g)
1p/2p - 356g
5p/10p - 328g
20p - 251g
Havnt actually weighed 50p (yet) but i would assume its the same as 20p (given coin is just over double the size)
Also havnt weighed £1 £2 coins as these are easy enough to count really. No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
