Security Clearance - overdraft

Hi, I'm trying to get a job at the moment that needs you to have security clearance. I noticed on one of the forms I filled out that it said something about financial responsibility (or something like that). Anyway I was wondering if me being in my overdraft could affect my chances??

  • I'm not completely sure but I think that's more to do with having CCJ's or defaults on your credit record. I don't think your overdraft even shows on your credit record, which is what I'd assume they'll be checking to find out.

If you are using an approved overdraft and not going beyond the agreed limit, you will be considered as acting responsibly. They should be worried only if you were defaulting.
