sometimes I don't understand

The turnover looks quite quick, the sale in the last couple of weeks was a relist as it failed to sell the first time she listed it, so although I am only guessing, she got the item, listed it a few days later for 10 days and it failed to sell. She then waited for the last Free listing day and relisted it again and it sold then.
If this was a small item then I would probably go with the money laundering theory, but whilst I don't want to say what this was, it is large, heavy and glass and weighed almost 2kg when packed.
The only thing that I have noticed is that she changed my title completely and with a few new keywords has presented the item differently. I sell collectables and antiques whereas she is marketing most of her goods to a newer shabby chic/interior design sort of market.as well.
I must say having been in a few shops in Bath I fell in love with shabby chic and plan to do my own house up like that (including a gorgeous tapestry such as they sell in Brussels) so maybe I'm just biased.
All in all, she doesn't sound the sharpest tool in the box. It would be a fairly legitimate buy to sell on if it wasn't, as you said, misrepresented."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I buy on ebay and resell myself so I don't mind people doing it to me. I was really just being nosey, wondering if I had missed something obvious . Oh well, she certainly pays well for her items so hopefully she'll se emy new listings and bid again!
I am not surprised though that she isn't registered as a business, more than half of my competitors in certain categories are wrongly registered and you get used to it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. SHe's a photographer and she's buying things to photograph and then selling them on to get rid. Maybe. Oh I don't know. It's all out there!:www: :: MFi3 ::

Except she's using the OP's photographs to sell her item!
OP, I would add a watermark to future photos to stop people pinching them (although sometimes they will use them even then).Optima semper libera sunt

As said it may have had a use, I have bought things on ebay with the intention of re-selling when I am done with them (sometimes turning a small profit buying cheap on auction and selling using BIN's)
As it is I am helping a school witha production of wizard of oz right now and I know a few props have been bought on ebay and will be sold straight after.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

If she does it again, sneakily replace your photographs of the item you sold with something else. That's what I would do if someone nicked my photos. How lazy and rude is that .0

I like Percy1983's suggestion of it being something to be used for a short period of time.
My mum does something similar with books and charity shops. She'll buy a book from a charity shop, read it and then, unless she particularly liked it, will donate it back to the charity shop.
Alternatively, there are advantages to be seen to be working, other than making money. For example to be able to claim tax credits for childcare you both need to be working 16 hours a week. If this person works, say, 13 hours a week she may then do "3 hours of eBay trading a week" and get some childcare costs paid.0 -
Is this something that they've just started doing? Maybe they're trying to make money doing this but haven't realised yet that they can't. Or haven't realised yet what the best ways of doing it are.
Was there a spelling mistake in your listing? Isn't there some pyramid-style scheme which involves buying things with spelling mistakes in to sell on?0 -

It is one of my 'usual' lines and to be honest a spelling mistake wouldn't make a great deal of difference, it isn't something like a game or a console that is only spelt one way. It is more of a 'thing' that everyone might call something different.
It is potentially something that you might want once but then mine was so much dearer than a normal one would be if you went to the high street but mine also wasn't quite different enough to be worth tkaing a big loss on. My postage alone was £4.41.
She's bought an odd selection of items though mainly antiques and collectables and whilst she uses the same photos she does market the items in a completely different way.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
