I received an IPA offer from the IS of £730 per month. This was considerably more than my SOA came out with and I was very concerned.
Debt Doctor kindly drafted me a letter which I sent back to the IS challenging their decision and turning down the IPA.
Without any further documentation being submitted they have reduced it to £445 per month which is almost in line with my original submission.
I think the key point is not to accept an IPA that you feel is too much and would change the reasonable standard of living into a basic standard of living, without contesting it if you feel strongly enough.
thanks DD0 -
I think what people would like to know is what point you challanged in on, was it that you wont pay 100% of surplus, that some expenses had not been fully included or something elseHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

The letter said that I disputed their evaluation of my surplus income and that there figures would only allow a basic standard of living as opposed to a reasonable one.
It mentioned the relevant Acts which cover this and reiterated that I was prepared to sign an IPA for the amount that my SOA showed I had surplus.
Their latest offer is only £36 different to my figures whereas before it was £321.00
At no point had they shown me what they based their figures on.
