257.40 hours divided by 39 hours = 6.6 weeks
If your 39 hours are spread over 5 days that equals 33 days (6.6 multiplied by 5)
However 39 hours suggests your worked days are not of equal length. How is your time actually spread over a week?0 -
thanks for the reply so thats 6 week but its the .6 im more confused about is that 6 hours or 6 days of a full week sorry for being thick0

Apart from the convenience of knowing that you have about 6 weeks holiday, converting it into days or weeks is just going to confuse you even more! Because as LittleVoice says - your hours suggest either that your days are of unequal length or that you have a felxible working pattern. What you need to do is establish what a "working day" is in terms of hours. Then every time you take a day off the "working day" is deducted from your hours owed. So, for example, nearly all of my clients have a 37 hour week worked flexibly - they just have to do 37 hours per week. But a working day for calculations is always 7 hours and 24 minutes. Every full day's holiday that they take is 7 hours and 24 minutes taken from their leave entitlement.0

sorry i cant be more clear on how it works i find it strange to bloody co/op never had this trouble before they took over all i can say its 8 hrs a day 39 a week 156 a month but thnx for all ur help0

.6 is .6 of a week so 23.4 hrs pay.
What you need to so is find out how the hours are allocated when you take holidays.0 -

But 8 hours every a day would suggest 40 hours a week, not 39. That's why people are a bit confused and have asked whether you work the same number of hours ever day.0 -
When I worked in retail everyone on a full time contract who weren't managers worked a 39 hour working week, that consisted of 4 x 8 hours and 1 x 7 hours (after lunch breaks) or 4 x 9 hours and 1 x 8 hours. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Sorry - you posted at the same time as I did so I didn't see your explanation of the shifts. But it seems pretty clear to me - some shifts are longer than others and you deduct the appropriate number of hours for whatever shifts you would have worked had you not been on holiday.0
