Overpaid By Last Job, What To Do?

Hi all, I changed jobs around two months ago now and just a couple of days ago my previous job paid me again, I assume its a mistake and have contacted them but where do I stand with it, can I keep the money as its there mistake or can they make me give it back as I shouldnt of got it? Any help is much appreiciated :]

    you will have to pay it back, but make sure you understand the calculations, perhaps you were working in hand or something. I was slightly suprised (to the tune of a week's pay) when I left my prev employer recently.

    Also i believe they have up to 6 years to claim it back - so much better to get it sorted now than a few years down the line recieving a letter demanding payment!
    Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.
  • Well I was paid a month after leaving also which I assume was for working so much in hand and remaining holiday pay, so thats why this second payment got me to question it, but thanks for the heads up I would rather pay it back and get it sorted straight away :]
